Man chokes to death on live fish in Cebu

A 23-year-old man in Cebu died after choking on a live fish, according to a report in “State of the Nation” on Monday.

The man's partner said that he had joined a fishing expedition, during which he tried to bite off the head of one of the fish that had been caught in the net. 

Instead, the fish slipped down into his throat, making breathing difficult.

Authorities have yet to determine the size of the fish, but it caused a swelling in his throat. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
