Married online sellers shot dead in Mexico, Pampanga
A married couple who worked as online sellers were shot dead inside their car in Mexico, Pampanga.
According to Jun Veneracion's report on 24 Oras Weekend, CCTV footage captured a motorcycle with two passengers following a black pick-up truck in Barangay Sto. Rosario. The pick-up was carrying the victims, as well as their child and a young relative.
The footage also showed the riders stopping the motorcycle and one of them walking towards the pick-up, then the duo fleeing the scene a few seconds later.
The victims were Arvin and Lerma Lulu, who had a beauty product business and were active online sellers. He was behind the wheel, while she was in the front passenger seat.
According to the police investigation, Arvin was shot six times and Lerma three. Their six-year-old child and the Lerma's teenage cousin was with them during the incident.
According to Arvin's sister, the child was traumatized.
"Pagkapunta ni mama doon sa bahay kung saan nandoon ang pamangkin ko, kanta nang kanta ng bata na, 'Where is mommy?' Kanta lang kami, 'Mommy, please come back, Daddy is coming back. Wait for him.' Doon na lang siya nag relax na," Alyssa Lulu said.
"Kung ano man po ang reason, dapat ba talaga buhay ang kapalit? Dapat ba talaga maulila ang anak nila?" she added.
(When my mom came to my brother's house, the child was singing, 'Where is mommy?' We were singing, 'Mommy, please come back, Daddy is coming back. Wait for him.' That was when the child calmed down. Whatever the reason is, did they really have to kill them? Does the child have to grow without his parents?)
The Philippine National Police has a witness and a person of interest.
"As to the motive, wala tayong concrete na motive po pero base sa account ng family, it's either business at may umutang sa kanila," said Police Lieutenant Colonel Joy Gollayan, Mexico Police Station chief.
(As to the motive, we don't have a concrete one yet. But based on the family's accounts, it's either business and someone is in debt to them.)
The police believed that the killing of the couple was planned.
