2 injured after hitting crossing dog in Talisay City, Cebu

A motorcycle rider and his passenger were injured after they accidentally hit a dog that was crossing the street in Talisay City, Cebu.

The CCTV footage showed that a dog was trying to cross the road as reported by GMA Regional TV’s Jeric Pasiliao in “Saksi” on Friday. 

Some motorists were able to avoid the dog, but one motorcycle was not able to do so. 

Because of the impact, the helmets of the two passengers flew off in the air. Meanwhile, the dog just simply ran away as seen in the CCTV footage. 

Following the incident, local traffic authorities are seeking help to manage stray dogs in the city. 

“We are calling the attention of our veterinarians to conduct an operation on stray dogs. It’s very dangerous whenever they are on national highways because they cannot be seen easily by the motorists,” said Joy Tumulak, City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority chief. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
