Road rage leads to stabbing to death of taxi driver in Baguio

A case of road rage in Baguio City resulted in the stabbing to death of a taxi driver on Asin Road.

According to Mav Gonzales' report on "24 Oras," CCTV footage from Tuesday night showed a white MPV blocking the path of another taxi.

The alleged incident wasn't seen on the video but it was at that time when a cab driver and his brother  attacked the driver of the other taxi.

The two suspects were seen driving away and leaving the victim bleeding on the road.

He was rushed to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

“Allegedly, itong victim ay nag-overtake at itong suspek ay hindi natuwa doon sa pag-overtake nitong victim, kaya nagkaroon ng gitgitan sa daan.  And allegedly, nagkaroon ng sakitan na nagdulot ng pananaksak,” said Baguio City Police Office Public Information Officer Police Major Harriet Bulcio.

(Allegedly, the victim overtook the suspect's taxi and the suspect was not happy about it. There was some jostling on the road and allegedly, there was a physical altercation that led to the stabbing.)

The two suspects later surrendered to the police, and are currently detained at the BCPO Station 9.

While they refused to provide a statement, they admitted to the crime and are facing charges for murder.

“Na-inquest na po 'yung dalawang suspek kagabi at nai-file na or nai-refer na po sa prosecutor ang murder case against sa kanila,” added Bulcio.
