Sual Mayor Calugay with alleged ties to Alice Guo eyes reelection

Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo "Dong" Calugay on Thursday filed his certificate of candidacy for his reelection in the 2025 national and local elections.

Calugay filed his COC along with his party-mates.

"Para sa patuloy na #SerbisyongMayMalasakit at sama-samang pag-abante ng ating bayan ng Sual, naghain si incumbent Mayor Dong Calugay ng kandidatura para sa reelection kasama ang kaniyang mga kapartido," a post on Calugay's official Facebook page read.

Calugay recently attended the Senate investigation into the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators and was asked about his supposed personal and business ties with dismissed Bamban, Mayor Alice Guo.

The incumbent Sual mayor denied having a romantic relationship with Guo despite photos of them together. He said that he was living with someone else.

Calugay also testified at the Senate that he has no previous or present business ventures with Guo despite the revelation of five farm business registrations, which was believed to be named after Guo and Calugay: AC Aqua Farm, Dee Aqua Farm, Licsel Fish Farm, Donguo Fish Farm, Guco Aqua Farm. —NB, GMA Integrated News
