Kerwin Espinosa files COC for mayor of Albuera, Leyte

Kerwin Espinosa, who was once linked to the illegal drug trade, has filed a certificate of candidacy for mayor of Albuera in Leyte.

According to a report on "24 Oras," filed his COC on Wednesday.

Espinosa is the son of the late former Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte linked Espinosa to drugs.

The charges for conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading and other cases have been dismissed by the Makati and Leyte courts.

However, the Court of Appeals has reopened his cases for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and illegal possession of dangerous firearms.
