No COC filed in Cagayan on first day, says Comelec

In the province of Cagayan, on the first day of filing of Certificates of Candidacy, there were no candidates running for local positions who filed their COCs, according to the Commission on Election (Comelec).

The Cagayan Province Information Office posted that according to an interview with Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Michael Camangeg, there were no candidates nor their supporters who went to the Comelec office on Tuesday.

"Wala rin umanong nagbigay ng paunang impormasyon o pahiwatig sa Election Supervisor kung kailan ang planong paghahain ng mga kilalang personalidad sa lalawigan," the CPIO said.

(No one gave advance information or hint to the Election Supervisor when well-known personalities in the province plan to file their COCs.)

Camangeg said the local Comelec office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October 8, 2024, including Saturday and Sunday.

He voiced hope that on Wednesday, October 2, there would be candidates who will file their COC to avoid the crowd in the last few days of filing.

Meanwhile, Camangeg said there were candidates who filed their COCs in Allapacan and Piat. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
