Investigation showed that Amores tried to shoot the victim identified as Lee Cacalda around 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Maytalang Uno after having a heated argument in a basketball game.
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Amores and his brother surrendered to authorities around 2 a.m. on Thursday due to alleged threats.
According to Amores, he already threw away the gun he used in the shooting incident.
Prosecutors said Amores used an unlicensed gun.
The PBA, meanwhile, said it was "saddened" by the incident.
"This is a matter subject of investigation by the police, and we cannot comment on it. But we are saddened by such an unfortunate incident," PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said.
