DepEd probes death of teacher in Davao de Oro
The Department of Education-Davao (DepEd-11) is set to launch an investigation into the death of a teacher in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, who died allegedly from stress after getting berated by the principal.
DepEd-11 spokesperson, Jenielito Atillo, said a dialogue will be conducted and the principal will be asked to attend.
Based on information that went viral on social media, the teacher was brought to the hospital and allegedly died due to stress after she was allegedly berated by the principal.
The incident happened after a parent allegedly reported directly to the principal that her child got wounded inside the classroom.
In a group chat, the teacher reportedly said she was checking papers when the incident with the student happened. The student was reportedly dancing and his head hit on the chair and got wounded.
DepEd-Davao de Oro extended its sympathies to the teacher’s family.
"DepEd Davao de Oro assures the public that it will thoroughly conduct an investigation on the cause of her death," DepEd-Davao de Oro said. —GMA Regional TV
