Barangay chairman shot dead outside house in Ilocos Norte

A barangay chairman in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte was shot to death outside his house in the town of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

According to a Saksi report on Monday, the victim was sitting at his garage when the unidentified suspect arrived on a motorcycle and shot him several times. The man immediately fled after the incident.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he died. 

The barangay official’s family declined to give comment but are demanding justice for his murder.

Police said they have already formed a special task group to investigate the case. 

Meanwhile, the town’s mayor has also offered a P300,000 reward to anyone who can give a tip that might lead to the suspect’s arrest. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
