Divine Mercy nat’l shrine rector passes away at 67

Monsignor Ranilo Trillana, the rector and parish priest of the National Shrine and Parish of the Divine Mercy in Marilao, Bulacan, has passed away at the age of 67, the church announced on Wednesday. 

Trillana succumbed to prostate cancer on September 11 at around 5 a.m., the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reported.

“Our dear Reverend Monsignor Ranilo Santos Trillana has peacefully joined our Creator,” the diocese announced on Facebook.

“With a heavy heart, we urge everyone to pray and ask God’s Mercy for the eternal repose of his soul,” it said. 

The memorial service for Trillana will be held from September 11 to 17 at the Main Church of the Shrine. A eulogy and tribute for him will be held on Monday, September 16 and an interment will be on Tuesday, September 17 at St. Michael Chapel inside the Shrine and the Funeral Mass.
