Abra town vice mayor hurt in shooting incident

Pigidan, Abra Vice Mayor Noel Bisares sustained wounds after he was shot in Barangay Pamutic on Thursday morning, according to the Police Regional Office - Cordillera (PROCOR).

Based on a police report from PROCOR, Bisares around 8:30 a.m. was sitting inside a construction supply establishment when the perpetrators arrived in the area aboard a motorcycle.

The backrider with orange cap alighted from the motorcycle, entered the establishment, and shot the vice mayor several times hitting his right arm and shoulder.

He was brought to a hospital in Bantay, Ilocos Sur for immediate medical treatment.

Hot pursuit operations are being conducted to identify and arrest the suspects. Dragnet and checkpoint operations have been set up. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
