Over P740-M shabu in fish food sacks seized in Cavite
Police seized P748 million worth of illegal drugs at a house in a village in Imus, Cavite leading to the arrest of two suspects.
According to a "Saksi" report by Nico Waje the illegal substance believed to be shabu was found in plastics placed inside sacks labeled as fish food.
The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) said the seized drugs weighed 110 kilos with a street value of P748 million.
PDEG said it has been monitoring the suspects for a month after someone gave a tip on their illegal business.
“One year na silang nag-i-stay dito…May iniimbestigahan tayo na may mas malaki pa behind them kasi trusted sila nung allegedly supplier nila. Parang second layer sila of the supply chain ng illegal drugs sa ating country,” said PDEG director Police Brigadier General Eleazar Matta.
(They’ve been staying here for a year…We are also investigating someone bigger than them because they are trusted by their alleged supplier. They are like the second layer of the supply chain of illegal drugs here in the country.)
Authorities will also investigate if the two suspects had previous charges.
The suspects refused to comment. —Vince Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
