PAGASA: Ambuklao, Binga dams release water

Two dams in Benguet province—Ambuklao and Binga—were still releasing water on Sunday morning, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

As of 8 a.m., PAGASA said that two gates were open at Ambuklao Dam at 0.80 meters. On Saturday, it only had one gate open at 0.50 meters.

Ambuklao Dam's reservoir water level (RWL) was at 751.76 meters on Saturday, then decreased to 751.69 meters on Sunday. It has a 752-meter normal high water level (NHWL).

Meanwhile, one gate remained open at Binga Dam at 0.50 meters.

Its RWL slightly increased from 573.94 meters to 574.67 meters, closer to its 575-meter NHWL.

All gates at the Ipo Dam in Bulacan, on the other hand, were already closed as of Sunday. Previously, it had one gate open at 0.15 meters.

Ipo Dam currently has a 100.49-meter RWL and a 101.10 NHWL.

Severe Tropical Storm Enteng exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday, but its trough, along with the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) brought rains over parts of Luzon last week. —Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA Integrated News
