Body found after Antipolo house swept away by floods


The body of one of the four missing people whose house was washed away by floods in Barangay San Luis, Antipolo City, due to Tropical Storm Enteng has been found, the search and rescue operation head said on Tuesday.

“Ngayon lang po na-confirm na yung isa doon sa hinahanap natin sa apat is natagpuan kahapon din doon sa, dito rin sa baba. Ngayon ang hinahanap natin is tatlo nalang,” search and rescue operation commander Brandon Villegas told Super Radyo dzBB’s Mark Makalalad in an interview.

According to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A, a total of nine people were reported dead in Rizal amid the onslaught of Enteng. The reported fatalities were identified as follows:

  • Lee Bragado Libantino - 15-year-old male, due to landslide
  • Lester Bragado Libantino - 12-year-old male, due to landslide
  • Miguela Baranda - 27-year-old female, due to landslide
  • Arlene Gumarag Patangan - 44-year-old female, due to drowning
  • unidentified female person wearing white floral dress - due to drowning
  • unidentified dead body of a person, Barangay Banaba, San Mateo, Rizal - due to alleged drowning
  • Maria Margarita Cauilan - 46-year-old female, due to drowning
  • Roan Negro Ondes - one-year-old male, due to landslide
  • Randy Ligan Fernandez - 47-year-old male, due to drowning

Six people remain missing in Calabarzon including four in Rizal and two in Quezon.

The PRO 4A said that the police are still validating if these deaths were due to the effects of Enteng.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) earlier said 13 people were reported dead due to the impact of Enteng. OCD spokesperson Edgar Posadas said eight of the fatalities were reported in Rizal, three in Bicol, and two in Cebu province. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
