La Mesa Dam reaches spilling level amid rains due to Habagat — PAGASA
The water level at the La Mesa Dam has reached spilling level and expected to continue to rise due to rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, PAGASA said on Wednesday.
As of 5 a.m., the water level has reached 80.16 meters, according to Edgar dela Cruz, PAGASA-Hydrometeorology Division weather facilities specialist, in an interview over Super Radyo dzBB.
La Mesa Dam's spilling level is 80.15 meters.
Dela Cruz said the overflow is very minimal but cautioned residents near the area, especially those who experienced flooding in the past, to take precautionary measures.
"Water from La Mesa Dam may affect the low-lying areas along the Tullahan River from Quezon City (Fairvew, Forest Hills Subd., Quirino Highway, Sta. Quiteria, and San Bartolome), Valenzuela (Bgy. Ligon, North Expressway, La Huerta Subd.) and Malabon," the weather burea reported.
All residents in the affected areas, especially those near the river banks are advised to take precautionary measures.
