Magnitude 4.9 quake hits off Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake hit southeast of Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental early Friday morning, PHIVOLCS reported.

PHIVOLCS earlier reported that a magnitude 5.1 hit the area.

The quake, which occurred at 1:21 a.m. at a depth of 128 kilometers, was tectonic in origin.

Meanwhile, Intensity I was felt in Malungon, Sarangani.

No damage is expected, PHIVOLCS said, but aftershocks may occur. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
