NBI seizes P600k worth of smuggled cigarettes in Laguna


The National Bureau of Investigation arrested three suspects in the smuggling of cigarettes in Santa Rosa, Laguna, on Monday.

The NBI Laguna District Office conducted an entrapment operation in Barangay Tagapo, Santa Rosa, that led to the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of 1,000 rims of cigarettes worth P600,000.

Authorities were also able to recover the entrapment money, a .40 caliber pistol, two .40 caliber magazines, and 20 live .40 caliber rounds of ammunition.

One of the suspects, named Gilberto Ramos, was also found to be the barangay chairman of Barangay Anyatam, San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
