2 Chinese nationals nabbed inside home of alleged former gov't official

Two Chinese nationals believed to be linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) were arrested in Tuba, Benguet.

The Chinese nationals were nabbed during a raid by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), according to Tuesday Niu's report on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday.

One of them had a working visa and was allegedly hiding an illegal alien, according to BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval in a report on "24 Oras Weekend."

The other Chinese citizen failed to provide proper documents.

Sandoval said the two individuals will face deportation charges. The BI will also check if they have pending cases in the Philippines.

Authorities had been monitoring the two before they were arrested.

They were later found hiding in a house inside a subdivision.

Authorities are also confirming the identity of the owner of the house who is allegedly a former government official. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VAL/VBL, GMA Integrated News
