'Lost' saltwater crocodile caught off Boracay beach

A saltwater crocodile was caught on a beach in Boracay, according to a 24 Oras report on Thursday.

The crocodile was reportedly spotted at the popular island's Sinagpa Beach at Station 1 on Thursday morning.

The Philippine Coast Guard was able to rescue the crocodile at around 3 p.m. The PCG turned the reptile over to a Department of Environmental and Natural Resources shelter in Malay.

Based on the report, the crocodile may have possibly gotten lost since it was not a species native to Boracay. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
