Cavite declares state of calamity in wake of Carina, Habagat
The local government of Cavite on Wednesday declared a state of calamity due to the effects of Typhoon Carina.
The declaration was contained in Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 3210-2024.
The declaration of a state of calamity enables the local government to access emergency funds swiftly and implement relief operations to aid the displaced residents.
According to a report on "24 Oras," floods caused residents also use boats to cross the flooded roads in Barangay Ligtong, Rosario, Cavite after the continuous rains affect Luzon.
Knee-high flood was also reported in Barangay Bagbag as well as in some barangays of Naic, Tanza, and Kawit. Flood alerts were raised in Bacoor, Kawit, General Trias, and Imus.
Motorists also had difficulty passing through Molino Road in Bacoor due to the flood.
Metro Manila was also placed under a state of calamity due to the impact of the massive flooding caused by the Carina-enhanced Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
