3 dead, 6 hurt after man flees in police car in Morong, Rizal

Three people died while six others were injured after a man drove away in a police car vehicle as he tried to flee from the authorities, Mark Salazar reported on “24 Oras” on Thursday.

(According to our investigation, we have three confirmed deaths and six injured individuals, including the suspect, the responding police, and four civilians.)

He added that the three victims were brought to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

At around 9 a.m., the police received a report that a man was causing a disturbance.

“Sa initial assessment parang meron siyang diperensya sa pagiisip so atin siyang isinama at nakita nating meron siyang mga sugat kaya ipapagamot dapat,” Panlaqui said.

(Based on our initial assessment, the man has a mental illness and we also saw that he was wounded so we were supposed to give him medical treatment.)

But when the wounds of the man were attended, he hurriedly left and fled from the police.

(Our police saw that the man drove our mobile. They chased him until he crashed, resulting in the killing of some people and damage to properties.)

The man crashed into the parked tricycles and motorcycles on the sidewalk.

He was also in the hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the responding police and four civilians refused to be brought to the hospital as they had minor injuries.

The families of the deceased victims refused to face the media but asked the police how a man with mental illness be held accountable.

(We are not the right agency to determine if the man has a mental illness. Right now, we are gathering evidence to file a corresponding case against him in court.)

The police also cannot locate the family of the suspect.

(We cannot talk to him properly. We will call his family if we get any information about them. He is not from here.)

The suspect will be under the Morong Police custody while waiting for the court order on where he should be taken.
