2 children found dead inside car in Pampanga

The bodies of two children were found inside a car in Barangay San Matias, Santo Tomas, Pampanga, according to Jasmine Gabriel-Galban’s 24 Oras report on Monday.

The bodies were found in an open parking space 500 meters from their house after the Philippine National Police received a report from concerned citizens.

The two children ages five and 6 are siblings.

According to their mother, she last saw them on July 6 when she fed them lunch.

Despite not seeing her children in the evening, the mother said she did not think they were missing as she remembered their father, who lives in another barangay, took them.

The mother only found out this afternoon that her children were missing when she saw their remains.

Meanwhile, the father said he did not take his children as he last saw them in June.

He added that he would not take his children without telling their mother.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

“Bago sila mawala pinakain ko muna. Nawala po, akala ko nandoon sila sa tatay nila. Hindi ko alam napunta sila diyan,” said Daina Castor, the mother of the children.

(I fed them before they went missing. Now, they are gone. I thought they were with their father. I did not know they were there.)

“Nakita ko, ako personally, nangangamoy na. So ibig sabihin, matagal na silang patay. Ito ongoing pa yung SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operatives) natin nagpo-process ng crime scene. Initial [ano] po namin wala pong nakita foul play,” said Police Captain Jester Calis, chief of Sto Tomas Police Station.

(I observe that the remains have a foul smell so it means they were long dead. The SOCO is investigating the crime scene. We initially found no foul play.)

Authorities are expecting the autopsy result on Tuesday to know the cause of the children’s death. —Celine Serquiña/NB, GMA Integrated News
