6 dead, 1 injured after truck plows into several houses in Calbayog City, Samar

Six people died after a truck crashed into seven houses along the road in Barangay Caglanipao Sur, Tinambacan District in Calbayog City, Samar.

According to the GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak report by Fe Marie Dumaboc on "Saksi," rescuers rushed to the accident site to rescue and retrieve affected residents of the crash.

Six individuals, including two senior citizens and a minor, were reported dead on arrival at the hospital, while an injured 27-year-old was under observation.

Meanwhile, police said the truck driver told them the brakes of the vehicle failed.

The driver is now in police custody.
