1 killed, P4.96M worth of shabu seized in Iloilo City buy-bust ops

A drug suspect was killed while P4.96 million worth of alleged shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Badiangan, Iloilo City, the Police Regional Office 6 reported Wednesday.

In a press statement, the police identified the fatality as alias Timor, 41 years old. Authorities also arrested alias Erik, 48. The two were tagged as high-value individuals.

The police said, during the operation conducted on July 1, alias Timor allegedly drew his firearm prompting operatives to retaliate. The suspect was brought to Iloilo Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival.

Based on police records, the suspect has previous murder and robbery cases.

The police also seized a caliber .45 pistol, chamber loaded and with one magazine inserted.

The other suspect is under police custody and charged for violation RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/AOL, GMA Integrated News
