Man in Cebu arrested after attacking women for being 'attractive'

A 37-year-old man in Cebu City was apprehended for allegedly attacking women for supposedly being “attractive”.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak’s Alan Domingo reported on “24 Oras” Wednesday that at least three victims filed complaints against the suspects. One of them is a 33-year-old woman who was elbowed while walking D. Jakosalem Street. She was hit on the eye.

Another victim reported she was walking at around 6 p.m. when the suspect suddenly punched her on the face and hit her nose. The unfortunate incident has since gone viral on social media.

Likewise, a 22-year-old victim was jogging along Fuente Osmeña when the suspect punched her on the eye.

“Sinasampal niya dahil maganda daw, peke daw ang mga mukha nila. Dahil hindi kami ang makakapagsabi or maka-allege na kung sinto sinto siya, dahil kailangan ng psychiatrist ang magsasabi niyan,” said Cebu City Police chief Police Major Mark Don Alfred Leanza.

(He said he hurt them because they are attractive. We cannot speculate if he has mental illness because we need a psychiatrist to evaluate that.)

The suspect is now under police custody and is facing charges for multiple physical injuries. Police said they are looking into the suspect possibly suffering from mental illness.

GMA Integrated News reached out to the suspect but he declined to comment.—Sundy Locus/RF, GMA Integrated News
