Mike Enriquez Legacy Fund helps GMA Kapuso Foundation build 3 new classrooms in Benguet

Three new Kapuso classrooms are ready to accommodate students at Dagadag Elementary School in Mankayan, Benguet, thanks to GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to "24 Oras," Wednesday, the province was among the areas that were severely affected by Typhoon Egay last year.

Because of its high location, water cannot come up to the area, making water supply one of the main problems for the residents of the municipality.

So when the classrooms' construction began last February, a resident named Pablo offered his water pump for free to supply water to the school.

Almost three months later, GMA Kapuso Foundation has finally inaugurated the three Kapuso classrooms, complete with hand and foot washing facilities.

Among those who helped in the project were those who donated through the Mike Enriquez Legacy Fund.

"The family of Mike Enriquez called on those who were mourning for Mike na instead of giving flowers eh mag-donate sa GMA Kapuso Foundation. 'Yung proceeds noon ay kasama dito sa fund sa pagpapatayo ng ng school na ito," GMA Kapuso Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rikki Escudero-Catibog said.

CESO V Schools Division Superintendent Sally Ullalim thanked GMA Kapuso Foundation for the new classrooms.

"Salamat talaga kasi GMA Kapuso Foundation is considering the last mile schools. 'Yung mga hindi pinapansin, pinapansin ng GMA Kapuso," she said.

For those who want to take part in GMA Kapuso Foundation's initiatives, you may send your donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
