Magnitude 5.1 earthquake hits off Roxas, Palawan

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the waters off Roxas, Palawan, on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 2:58 p.m., was located 91 kilometers southeast of Roxas town. It occurred at a depth of 26 km.

Intensity III was reported in Roxas while Intensity I was felt in Cuyo and Narra, Palawan.

The earthquake was not likely to do any damage, but PHIVOLCS warned that aftershocks could happen. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
