Two persons hurt in Leyte earthquake

At least two persons were hurt after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Abuyog, Leyte on Friday evening, according to a report from GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak on "Saksi."

According to the initial report of Dulag Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office, one of the victim is a pregnant woman who fainted and fell from a flight of stairs.

The second casualty was her co-worker, who jumped and sustained a foot injury.

The Dulag MDRRMO also advised the residents living along the coastal areas to evacuate to safer grounds.

The tectonic earthquake occurred 36 kilometers northeast of Abuyog, Leyte, at 6:16 p.m. It was detected at a depth of 10 kilometers and was felt in various areas in the Visayas and Mindanao. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
