Fire hits oil mill in Lucena City, Quezon

An oil mill in Lucena City, Quezon province was hit by fire and the damage was pegged at about P25 million, according to a report on "24 Oras" Thursday.

The fire, which was raised to third alarm, spread quickly because of the coconut residue that was used to produce oil at the site.

The Bureau of Fire Protection personnel had to use a special chemical to put the fire under control. No one was reported injured. The damage was estimated to cost about P24 million.

An investigation is conducted to determine the cause of the fire. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
