Online selling feud seen as 22-year-old woman stabbed to death in Davao City

Suspects who were riding in tandem stabbed to death a 22-year-old woman in Davao City over the weekend, Jandi Esteban of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao reported on “24 Oras.”

Her husband believes that a grudge over online selling was behind the attack.

Based on an initial investigation, the victim was waiting for her husband along Quimpo Boulevard on Sunday evening when the motorcycle-riding suspects stabbed her.

She succumbed to two stab wounds in the neck.

The couple was originally from the Asuncion town and were on their way to Digos. The victim’s husband left her momentarily to buy medicine for her stomach ache.

“Sa online selling iyon. Mayroon siyang nakalaban,” the husband said.

(It might be because of rivalry in online selling.)

Police removed robbery as the motive for the crime as no possession was reported missing from the deceased victim.

“Titinginan natin ang CCTV dito para makita ang sinakyan ng suspect. Tingnan mo malapit pa ang station natin, harap ng fast food chain, maraming establishments, at raanan. Bigla na lang may sasaksakin sa gilid. Talagang malagas ang loob ng tumira,” Davao City Police Director Police Colonel Richard Bad-ang said.

(We will check the CCTVs in the area to find the suspects’ vehicle. They committed the crime near our station and in an area teeming with establishments. Whoever is behind this must be brave to do it.) —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
