No suspension of number coding in Baguio City on Holy Week

Baguio City will still implement its number coding scheme even during holidays, according to its public information office (PIO).

In a Facebook post, Baguio City PIO said number coding will be implemented in the city's major roads of the central business district and tourists are not exempted from its implementation.

"SA BAGUIO, MAY NUMBER CODING KAHIT HOLIDAY (In Baguio City, the number coding will be implemented even on holidays). Ordinance No. 001-2003 or The Number Coding Ordinance allows suspension of the number coding scheme by Executive Order ONLY FOR CALAMITY, EMERGENCY and City - sponsored/co-sponsored activities," the Facebook post read.

The public announcement was posted on Facebook in time for the Holy Week break when families usually flock to the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

Under its number coding scheme, vehicles with license plates ending in the following numbers are not allowed to pass through its major thoroughfares:

Monday (1-2)
Tuesday (3-4)
Wednesday (5-6)
Thursday (7-8)
Friday (9-0)
