Severed head found near creek in Carmona, Cavite

A severed head by minors fishing at a creek in Carmona, Cavite on Monday night.

According to Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras," authorities said the head was already in an advanced stage of decomposition when it was found in Barangay Cabilang Baybay.

Police said it was possible that the head was that of the naked corpse which was found at a dense portion of the side diversion road in Baranga Lantic on February 17.

Carmona chief of police Police Lt. Col. Jefferson Ison indicated that five bones that were missing in the spine of the body were found in the head that was recovered.

Ison said that the skull was hit by a bullet from a gun of unknown caliber. It was possible that the victim was first shot before getting beheaded.

Currently, the Carmona police suspect that this is the foreign national with a high position in the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) who disappeared in Makati last January.

This is said to be the possible key to tracking down the crime suspects.

The Carmona police, in collaboration with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, is conducting backtracking using CCTV, and the statements of the persons of interest have also been recorded. —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
