DSWD releases food packs, P200 million in aid for Davao Region


The Department of Social Welfare and Development on Sunday announced that it has released over P200 million worth of assistance and a total of 282,561 family food packs (FFPs) to families affected by recent disasters in the Davao Region, including the deadly landslide that hit Maco, Davao de Oro last week.

According to the DSWD statement, Davao del Norte received the majority of the assistance: P85 million in aid and 129,168 FFPs.

Davao Oriental received P63 million worth of assistance and 93,553 FFPs.

Davao de Oro, received P46 million worth of aid and 69,007 FFPs. Part of assistance for Davao de Oro was extended to the victims of the landslide in Barangay Masara in Maco.

All three aforementioned areas have declared a state of calamity.

Meanwhile, Davao Occidental has received P1.2 million in aid and 1,919 FFPs, while Davao City has been given P700,000 in aid and 1,089 FFPs. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
