Forced evacuation ordered in some barangays in Maco, Davao de Oro due to landslides
The Provincial Government of Davao de Oro has announced that a forced evacuation is implemented in five barangays in the town of Maco late Tuesday evening following the landslides that occurred in the area.
The residents in Barangays Masara, Mainit, Tagbaros, Elizalde, Panibasan will be moving to safer grounds.
The evacuation centers identified by the government are: Upper Elizalde, Andili High School, Panibasan Church in Maco, Nuevo Iloco High School, and Elizalde Immaculate Conception Quasi-Parish.
A temporary Incident Command Post has also been established in Barangay Elizalde.
The government also announced that the "Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office/ Emergency Operations Center has deployed its Mountain Search and Rescue (MOSAR) team to augment the MDRRMO Maco and other teams on standby for other needs."
