Missing person found dead in Malubog, Cebu City
A 20-year-old man from Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City who was missing since January 6, 2024 was found dead in Sitio Buongon, upland barangay of Malubog, Cebu City at about noontime on January 31, 2024.
The mother of Earl Lawrence Turay even sought the help of GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak through the public service segment calling on information from the public on the whereabouts of her son.
Turay’s body was found to be in an advance state of decomposition in an abandoned hang-out place in the city’s highlands now covered with thickets. The body was wearing a black shirt, his face down to the ground, a cord was found around his neck, his head severed from his body. A pair of black leather shoes was also found in the scene.
A woman riding pillion with a motorist stopped at the said area to urinate but she noticed a human body so she reported what she saw immediately to the barangay hall nearby.
Malubog Barangay Chairman Dennis Dabuco and his co-barangay officials went to verify the report.
In the early afternoon, the mother of Turay confirmed the body to be that of her missing son.
The disaster team said that the body could have been dead for more than two weeks based on the degree of decomposition.
His mother said Turay had not come home for almost a month already, thus she decided to have the matter reported to the police.
Feelers on the missing man was also posted at conspicuous places in Barangay Busay and at the vicinity of the area where he was found. —GMA Regional TV
