Flood-hit Davao Oriental under state of calamity
A state of calamity has been declared in Davao Oriental due to rains and flooding brought by the shear line, according to a "Balitanghali" report on Thursday.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, at least two persons have been reported dead while four were wounded.
Over 64,000 families have been affected by the weather situation.
At least P113 million in damages to agriculture and livelihood have been recorded.
Roads and some infrastructures were also damaged by the floods.
The state of calamity declaration allows the provincial government to tap quick response funds to address the calamity.
Earlier, Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro also declared a state of calamity in their respective areas. —Jiselle Anne Casucian
