27-year old man in Tarlac dies after being bitten by cobra while urinating

A 27-year-old man in Paniqui, Tarlac died from a cobra bite while he was urinating, according to a State of the Nation report on Wednesday.

The victim was reportedly bit on the foot while he was urinating outside his house. He was later rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The concerned family made contact with a snake catcher who was able to find a cobra that is believed to be responsible for the fatal snakebite. The cobra was placed inside a sack and grief-stricken residents stoned the venomous reptile to death.

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO) said that killing wildlife animals such as cobras are prohibited by law except in cases of emergency.— Jiselle Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
