2-year-old dies after falling into wastewater in Lapu Lapu City

A two-year-old boy was found dead after falling into an open wastewater in Lapu Lapu City, according to a report from "State of the Nation."

The grandfather of the boy said he was about to sleep when he found out his grandson was not in bed.

The former barangay chairman in the area said there were plans to complete the passageway of the wastewater.  However, some residents opposed the project, prompting officials to halt it.

The local government has pumped out the wastewater and temporarily covered the big hole to prevent another accident. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
