2 soldiers killed in Lanao del Norte ambush

Two Army soldiers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen during an ambush at Munai, Lanao del Norte, a report on Balitanghali said Thursday.

Troops of the 51st Infantry Battalion were conducting intelligence operations at Barangay Lininding when three assailants onboard motorcycles started shooting at them.

The two soldiers died on the spot, while a companion was able to retaliate and shot back at the perpetrators.

The assailants fled the scene and are currently at large. Authorities have appealed to citizens to report any information they may regarding the incident. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
