Easterlies cause Davao de Oro bridge to collapse

A portion of a bridge in Monkayo, Davao de Oro collapsed due in part to continuous rain brought by the Easterlies, according to a Balitanghali report on Wednesday.

No one was reported injured and authorities have blocked entry points to the bridge to avoid further accidents.

Residents of Barangay Naboc, where the bridge is located were directed to take a longer but safer alternative route to Poblacion.

Last February, the nearby Naboc Bridge collapsed due to incessant heavy rains.—RF, GMA Integrated News
