PNR reopens Naga-Legazpi route after six years
The Philippine National Railways (PNR) on Wednesday, December 27, reopened the Naga-Legazpi-Naga route after over six years since the operations of the Bicol route was stopped.
In a social media post, PNR said the first trip from Naga City going to Legazpi City commenced at 5:45 a.m.
The 101-kilometer route in the Bicol Region would have four trips daily.
The trip from Naga going to Legazpi is scheduled at 5:30 p.m., while the Legazpi going to Naga trip would be at 5:47 p.m.
PNR said the one-way end-to-end trip would last three hours and four minutes, traversing several towns in Camarines Sur and Albay.
The stations for the route are Naga, Pili, Iriga, Polangui, Ligao, Travesia, Daraga, and Legazpi.
The flag stops would be in Baao, Lourdes, Bato, Matacon, Oas, Bagtang, Washington Drive, and Capantawan.
The fare for the newly reopened route would range from P15 to P155, depending on the final destination of the passenger.
Senior citizens, students, and persons with disability discounts of 20% can be applied upon presenting their identification cards.
PNR said the train service for the Naga-Legazpi-Naga route was suspended in April 2017 due to insufficient number of coaches and locomotives.—Ted Cordero/AOL, GMA Integrated News
