Motorcycle rider dead, passenger critical after car hits head-on

A motorcycle rider was killed while his passenger is in critical condition after an oncoming car switched lanes and hit them head-on on the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge.

According to a report on "State of the Nation," the motorcycle passenger was thrown off by a few meters because of the impact.

The rider was dead on arrival at the hospital.

The driver of the car reportedly tested positive for alcohol.

There is a possibility that the police will continue to press charges even if the driver manages to settle amicably with the victims. —NB, GMA Integrated News
