Northern Mindanao workers get P33 per day wage hike; kasambahay salary up by P500

Workers in the Northern Mindanao (Region X) region who are receiving minimum wage will get an increase of P33 in their daily salary.

The wage hike will be released in two tranches  — P23 effective December 2023 and P10 on July 1, 2024, according to Wage Order No. RX-22 issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Region X on December 19, 2023.

Upon full implementation of the two tranches, the daily minimum wage rates in the region shall be P423-P438 for the non-agriculture sector, and P411-P426 for the agriculture sector.

The RTWPB also motu proprio issued Wage Order No. RX-DW-04, increasing the monthly minimum wage of domestic workers or kasambahay by P500 for chartered cities and first-class municipalities and P1,500 for other municipalities.

The monthly wage rate for all areas in the region will now be P5,000.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
