Magnitude 5.3 quake jolts Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur on Tuesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
In an advisory, PHIVOLCS said the tremors occurred at 9:58 p.m. The epicenter was located 64 kilometers east of the town of Hinatuan.
The quake was tectonic and had a depth of focus of 10 km.
According to PHIVOLCS, it was an aftershock of the powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake that jolted Surigao del Sur on December 2.
Reported Intensities were felt over the following areas:
- Intensity V- Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur
- Intensity III - Bislig City, Surigao del Sur
- Instrumental Intensities:
- Intensity II - Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; Tandag and Bislig City, Surigao del Sur
- Intensity I - City of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte
