Police nab one of two alleged gunmen in Nueva Ecija bus shooting
One of the two suspects in the bus shooting in Nueva Ecija last month which killed two individuals has been arrested, the Central Luzon police announced Tuesday.
The alleged gunman identified as Allan Delos Santos was apprehended in Dilasag, Aurora on November 20, five days after the shooting in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija on November 15.
Upon his arrest, police said Delos Santos “gave crucial information about his participation in the killing of victims Gloria Atilano and Arman Bautista, and voluntarily executed an extra-judicial confession with the assistance of his counsel.”
A criminal complaint for two counts of murder against Delos Santos and four others was filed on Monday, December 11, before the Prosecutor's Office in Nueva Ecija.
Delos Santos also has a warrant of arrest for statutory rape and sexual assault, according to Nueva Ecija Police provincial director Police Colonel Richard Caballero.
Police said an in-depth investigation further revealed that Delos Santos is a known gun-for-hire operating in Nueva Ecija and Isabela.
Police Regional Office 3 director Police Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. said that police operation is ongoing to arrest the other individuals involved in the killing.
The two victims, who were live-in partners, were seated in front of a bus when they were shot dead at close range.
