Magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes offshore Surigao del Sur

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred in the waters of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur on Sunday morning, information from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) showed.
The earthquake occurred at 7:58 a.m. and had its epicenter at 08.39°N, 127.04°E - 077 km N 88° E of Hinatuan.
The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 10 km.
Intensity III was felt in Bislig, Surigao del Sur.
PHIVOLCS said no damage and aftershocks are expected.
Last December 2, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Hinatuan.
Intensity VII was felt then in the City of Tandag, and Intensity VI in Bislig. —KG, GMA Integrated News
