Pregnant woman dies after being run over by truck in Danao, Cebu

A pregnant woman died after she was run over by a wing van in Danao City, Cebu.

According to a report by Nikko Sereno of GMA Regional TV’s Balitang Bisdak, the 26-year-old victim was crossing the street on her way home in Barangay Looc when the incident happened.

The woman immediately died together with her unborn baby.

The truck driver attempted to escape, but he was pursued by the police until he was arrested in the nearby Carmen town. 

He said he was afraid of being ganged up by the residents following the incident.  He will face a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

The truck was bound for Leyte to deliver noodles. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
