Former Cateel mayor slain in Davao City

A former mayor of Cateel, Davao Oriental was fatally shot inside his car in Davao City on Wednesday. 

The victim was identified as Giselo Velasco Castillones, who served as mayor of Cateel from 1983 to 1986, according to Kent Abrigana’s report on GMA Regional TV One Mindanao. 

The shooting incident happened around 10 a.m., outside a fast food restaurant in Barangay Buhangin in Davao City.

The driver of the car, Julie Castro, was injured and is undergoing medical treatment.

Castillones was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.—RF, GMA Integrated News
