Student dies after bus rams terminal in Bataan
A student died while two others were injured after a bus rammed a terminal in Balanga City, Bataan. according to a "24 Oras report by Russel Simorio of GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon.
The victim, Jen Orviel Titulo, was in the terminal waiting for her ride when the bus suddenly accelerated hitting a concrete wall which pinned her to death.
“Dahil sa aksidente, napinsala rin itong concrete wall na dumagan sa estudyante,” said Police Captain Carlito Buco, Jr. chief of the Bataan Police information office.
“Noong nakita ko ‘yung naka-handusay na, hinawi ko ang buhok. Nakita ko ang mukha ng anak ko. Anak ko ‘yan, anak ko ‘yan. Palapitin niyo ako,” said the victim’s mother, Jennifer Dinglasan.
The bus dispatcher who was thrown off due to the impact of the ramming sustained injuries.
According to the police, the bus was bound for Mariveles and was in idle mode as it was waiting for passengers.
The investigation showed that the driver stepped on the accelerator pedal causing him to ram through the wall.
The driver is now in the custody of the Balanga Police. He explained that the dispatcher told him that it was his turn to load passengers.
“Pag-start ng makina, umarangkada agad ito,” Buco said.
